The ASC 10 x 10 Career Development Traveling Fellowship

(application appears at the bottom of this page.)

The first Academic Surgical Congress was held in San Diego, California 18 years ago. Since that first meeting, the Association for Academic Surgery and the Society of University Surgeons have jointly educated thousands of surgeons at every stage of their careers. We have established a proud tradition of providing education to help academic surgeons advance in their careers. In recognition of all we have accomplished, the ASC is again pleased to offer The ASC 10 x 10 Career Development Traveling Fellowship. This award has been made possible due to the strong financial support of the members of AAS and SUS, and our Congress attendees.

Purpose:

The purpose of this traveling fellowship is to provide an active member of both the AAS and SUS the opportunity to visit a scholar or clinician at another institution for one week. The goal of the fellowship is to further the recipient’s academic development, and to promote interaction and learning among surgeons in different academic practices in the United States. The traveling fellow is expected to observe procedures in the operating room, participate in relevant research activities, and attend host institution conferences at the institution of their choosing for one week.

Winner receives:

The award is a $2,000 stipend to support the recipient’s airfare, lodging, and other related expenses.
The application will close on Monday, December 12th at 11:59pm Pacific Time.

Applications are now closed for this year.
