University of Vermont
The University of Vermont Medical Center offers a six-year General Surgery Residency Program that includes five clinical years and one surgical research year. Clinical rotations are designed to provide experience in preoperative, operative and postoperative care for patients in all general surgery areas. UVM faculty provide general surgical residents with substantial surgical and research experience in an atmosphere of collegiality. Research experience exists in basic and clinical science, as well as in global health and surgical education.

Albany Medical College – Albany Med Health System
Albany Medical Center is northeastern New York’s only academic medical center and one of the largest private employers in the Capital Region. It incorporates a 766-bed hospital, which offers the widest range of medical and surgical services in the region and Albany Medical College, which trains the next generation of doctors, scientists, and other health care professionals. It also includes the region’s largest physicians’ practice. Albany Medical Center works with dozens of community partners to improve the region’s quality of life. It traces its roots to 1849.

Carilion Clinic-Virginia Tech Carilion School of Medicine (CC-VTCSOM) Department of Surgery is comprised of 103 faculty members with residencies in surgery and plastic surgery and fellowships in Surgical Critical Care and Advanced GI/MIS/Bariatrics. The partnership between Carilion Clinic and Virginia Tech was formed out of an innovative public-private enterprise in 2007.
